Dear friends and family of Steenberg

We find ourselves in troublesome times as we all attempt to navigate this new and unknown territory brought upon us by the Coronavirus pandemic. As we begin to understand the wide-reaching consequences of COVID-19 on our country and its people, we all need to play our part in helping President Cyril Ramaphosa in his attempts to “flatten the curve” and minimise the spread.

We wish to assure you that to date, to the best of our knowledge, no Steenberg staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. The health and safety of our dedicated staff is of utmost priority and steps are continuously being taken to ensure their wellbeing.

After careful consideration in support of social distancing, which appears to be the best way forward, we have decided to err on the side of caution by reducing our operations substantially with immediate effect at our tasting room, restaurants, hotel & spa.

Steenberg Wine Tasting and Restaurants

  • Steenberg Tasting Room is closed for wine tasting and wine sales.
  • Our wines are available for pre-order online. Orders will be available for collection or delivery once the nationwide ban on alcohol has been lifted.
  • Tryn Restaurant is open to sit-down dining.
  • Bistro Sixteen82 remains closed to sit-down dining.
  • During lockdown, the restaurants have collaborated to form Steenberg @ Home where Executive Chef Kerry Kilpin has tailored her menu to be enjoyed in the comfort of your home. Available for delivery or collection.
  • Our staff members are continuing to work under strict hygiene conditions to bring our food and wine to you.

  • All bookings as of 20 March 2020 may be postponed to a future date within the next 12 months. No penalty fee will apply.
  • Outright cancellations will be managed on a case by case basis.

We intend keeping these precautionary measures in place for as long as is necessary to safeguard the well-being of our guests, staff and greater community.
