Global brand champion & face of the brand: Sets and hold the reigns on the strategic direction of “Brand
Steenberg” while simultaneously owning the scalable marketing strategy for Steenberg Wines.
Principle Duties
Overall parent brand custodian, collaborating with all key stakeholders and providing the necessary framework, standards and tools required to build a cohesive premium brand with widespread international appeal
Lead formulation of Steenberg Vineyards’ integrated annual plans including situational reviews, data-rich insights and focused marketing plans that drive local and global market expansion
Manage the implementation of all Steenberg Vineyards marketing programs from ideation, creative development and budget ownership right through to analyzing and reporting on key performance indicators
Prepare, analyse and submit monthly marketing performance reviews aligned to planned objectives and KPIs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams that offer a touch point for brand growth to define acquisition goals, tactics and executional standards
Monitor competitive landscape and market trends ensuring that Steenberg Wines are positioned at the forefront, and leading innovation and renovation projects where required to achieve and maintain this
Develop and manage annual budget – constantly reviewing spend for opportunities to increase efficiency and results.
In conjunction with internal and external Business Intelligence resources, ensure that all available data (category, channel, customer, consumer, competitor etc) is analysed to support the development of unrivaled marketing plans
Be an informed business, category and brand champion regarding winemaking, winegrowing, wine vintages and the distinct benefits and availability of our entire range – products, awards and accolades
Manage assigned marketing relevant integration projects or ad-hoc duties and responsibilities assigned by leadership team
Experience and Capabilities
Degree in Marketing or related field
Min. 5 years Marketing Manager experience, preferably in FMCG environment
Passion for premium brand building required – passion for wine advantageous
Clear track record of marketing campaign delivery, management and positive sales impact
Understanding of how local programs can be adapted &/or scaled for global markets
Ability to forecast a number of tools and work with all business functions to accurately determine and quantify marketing needs and ROI
